Sisters and Misters in Quartzsite

Driving along Interstate 10, just a few miles east of the California border, lies the community of Quartzsite, Arizona. First impression, you might think there are no permanent buildings in the entire town. Actually there are a few...mostly trucks stops and fast food places. The rest are almost entirely portable. A number of permanently placed mobile homes but mostly RVs of every size and type imaginable...and not just in town but scattered all around in the desert. But most of all this town is one giant flea market, selling everything from gems and minerals to RVs and just plain junk.

Earlier this month, twenty plus Sisters on the Fly, driving their vintage trailers and accompanied by their husbands, boyfriends, dogs and kids came together for a kickback weekend of socializing and shopping till they drop. Perfect desert style winter weather and good friends made for unpretentious good times had by all.

The Time Has Come

“The time has come to reaffirm our enduring spirit; to choose our better history; to carry forward that precious gift, that noble idea, passed on from generation to generation: the God-given promise that all are equal, all are free, and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness.” ~ President Obama
