The Magic of Orginary Days

Within you
there is a stillness
and a sanctuary
to which you can retreat
any time.

Enough already!

Enough already with the sunflowers!
But they're all over the yard.
Then go buy something else at the store.
Just not the same.

Life is just a bowl of cherries!

Life is just a bowl of cherries
Don't take it serious,
Life's too mysterious
You work,
You save,
You worry so
But you can't take your dough
When you go, go, go

but in striving that our country

Keep love in your heart.
A life without it is like a sunless garden
when all the flowers are dead.

Rain on the Window

Well, I'm home...back from my trip to Colorado and here I am posting the very last photo I took. This was taken from the kitchen window of our cabin in Big Bear. The first time I'd seen rain since I left California, two weeks earlier. Thanks to the terrible drought, much of Colorado was looking like high desert with so much sage popping up where tall green grass usually grows. I just hope that the jet stream sent this much needed moisture east to my second favorite state.

Flowers are those little colorful beacons of the sun
from which we get sunshine when dark,
somber skies blanket our thoughts.

Strawberries in a Turquoise Bowl

When is a cucumber like a strawberry?
When one is in a pickle and the other is in a jam.

Morning Light

When you arise in the morning,
think of what a precious privilege it is
to be alive
- to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love.
